PFC and OFC sign new players; BFC announce extension; CFC confirm exit
Punjab FC and Odisha FC strengthen their squads with new signings. Bengaluru FC extend contract of young prospect, while Chennaiyin FC announce departure.

Indian Super League (ISL) club Punjab FC announced the signing of Muhammed Uvais ahead of the upcoming 2025-26 season.
The full-back last featured for Jamshedpur FC, where he reached both the ISL Cup semifinal and the Kalinga Super Cup final last season.

Uvais joined Jamshedpur FC in 2022 and made 56 appearances for the club across three seasons, providing four assists and one goal, which came this season against Bengaluru FC. Uvais has signed a multi-year contract with the Shers.
The 26-year-old was born in Nilambur in the football-loving district of Malappuram in Kerala and primarily plays as a left-back. He started his professional career in 2017 with FC Kerala and played in the 2017-2018 I-League 2.
He moved to FC Thrissur for the next season before moving to Ozone FC in Bengaluru, before shifting to another city club, Bengaluru United, in the 2020 season. Uvais shifted back to Kerala the next year and represented Kerala State Electricity Board before being signed by Gokulam Kerala FC, with whom he won the I-League in the 2021-22 season.
He made 18 appearances and scored once in the season, which led him to sign for Jamshedpur FC in the ISL on a three-year contract in 2022.
Speaking on his signing for Punjab FC, Uvais said, “I am thrilled to join the Punjab FC setup. They have a promising project and a very talented group of players. I am confident of giving my best efforts and winning some trophies for the club.”
Uvais started his footballing journey from the famed MSP Academy in Malappuram before moving to Bharath FC Pune Academy. He has also represented Sudeva Delhi FC in his youth career.
Shivaldo Singh extends Bengaluru FC stay
Bengaluru FC forward Chingangbam Shivaldo Singh signed a new three-year extension until the end of the 2027-28 campaign.
Shivaldo made his ISL debut against Mumbai City FC in the 2023-24 season. He scored his first goal for the club in a 2-1 win over FC Goa later on that season.

He made his debut for India’s U23 squad later that year, scoring on his first appearance against Malaysia in an international friendly.
“I’m really happy to have signed a new deal with Bengaluru FC, a club where I’ve grown immensely over the last few years. I’m grateful to the coaches and management for putting their faith in me, and to the fans for their support,” Shivaldo said.
“The season gone by was one that tested me, and I’m thankful to the club for supporting me through this period. I’m looking forward to contributing to the team’s future successes,” he added.
Odisha FC rope in Lalrinfela Khiangte
Indian Super League (ISL) outfit Odisha FC have strengthened their midfield with the acquisition of Lalrinfela Khiangte.
He has signed a three-year deal with the Kalinga Warriors, with an option to extend for an additional year.

The 25-year-old from Mizoram, fondly known as Rinfela, brings a combination of energy, consistency, and playmaking ability to the midfield. He began his football journey in 2015 with the Mohun Bagan Football Academy after impressing in open trials.
In 2017, Rinfela joined the Bengaluru FC Reserve Team and also played for their U18 side. He later represented Mizoram in the 2021 Santosh Trophy Qualifiers.
Rinfela signed with Aizawl FC in 2022, where he showcased his talent during a standout 2023–24 I-League season. He set a league record by featuring in 21 out of 22 matches, also scoring twice and providing a team-high 4 assists.
In June 2024, he joined Mohammedan SC and made his Indian Super League (ISL) debut later that year in September. He went on to make 11 ISL appearances for the Black and White Brigade, clocking a total of 696 minutes.
On committing his future to Odisha FC, Khiangte said, "I'm really excited to join Odisha FC. It's a club that's growing steadily. I played at the Kalinga Stadium in the ISL 2024-25 season, and it was a great experience. The fans were amazing. Getting the chance to train under coach Sergio Lobera is a big opportunity for me. I've heard a lot about his style and vision, and I'm looking forward to learning, growing, and giving my best for the team, the club and the fans.”
Chennaiyin FC part ways with Wilmar Jordan Gil
ISL side Chennaiyin FC, on Sunday, announced the departure of Colombian forward Wilmar Jordan Gil.

The forward joined the Marina Machans ahead of the 2024–25 season from Punjab FC and quickly settled into his new side, bringing with him the goal-scoring form he was known for. He registered 10 goals in 23 appearances in the ISL last season, the most by any Chennaiyin FC player and also provided one assist.
Clocking 1,515 minutes, he recorded a goal conversion rate of 21.74% and created 14 chances, underlining his efficiency in front of the goal and contribution to the team's attacking rhythm.
