The second season of the Hero Indian Super League has stepped into its second round of matches, and the coaches and players have slowly begun to get a grasp of things. In the pre-match conference, as FC Pune City get ready to take on NorthEast United FC at home, head coach David Platt and English defender Nicky Shorey attended to the media’s questions.“It's too early to comment,” said Platt, when asked about where the teams were heading. “We've only seen two games [for most teams] and you couldn't legislate and analyse [on that]. Only after 4-5 games, you'd be able to analyse. It's nice to see the team [NorthEast United FC] we're playing, on TV and have a report. We had nothing for Mumbai [City FC],” he added.Platt expressed his satisfaction with the squad and let on that everyone was available for selection. He, however, wanted to take no chances against NorthEast United FC. “It's totally irrelevant what happened last year [FC Pune City were undefeated against the Assam-based team]. We won our [first] game [of this season] so we're positive. But I can’t speak for NorthEast United. They will want to bounce back, but all we've focused on is our game. And we've rested well.”Shorey concurred with that thought. “We know they're coming off a loss. They will be eager to win. They will come hard at us.” said the Englishman. “It will be a tough game. And we wouldn’t want to lose focus,” he said.Reviewing their last match’s performance against Mumbai City FC, Platt said, “We didn't have the ball. We didn't have possession. We weren't even expressive as we'd like to be. We did well in training. When we changed players, we changed our game. I'm not interested in anything but the three points.”Tuncay Şanlı was their shining star in the season opener, in spite of playing under such conditions for the first time. About his substitution, Platt commented, “Tuncay did a lot of running. [I] took him off to save him for the next game. Injuries are common due to the heat and we wanted to save him from that. I also wanted [Adrian] Mutu to get some game time.”
