Having finally ended their 14-match winless run in the last outing against Chennaiyin FC, Kerala Blasters FC will next be on the road to play against FC Goa in their penultimate fixture in the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2018-19 campaign.

Kerala head coach Nelo Vingada, during the pre-match press conference, shared his views on the Goa squad and said, "We are playing against the number two team in the league. So, we are playing against a strong team in good form, especially in the last four games. They are showing why they are a candidate to win this league. But all games start at 0-0. Our team is not here just to participate in this event. It will be tough and hard for us but we will try to win."

Asked about his game plan to beat Goa, the veteran coach responded, "We have to play in a very positive way without mistakes and be very compact, organized. I also want to show that our team can face the best opponents of the Hero ISL. I want to make life hard for Goa tomorrow."

The Portuguese then opined that the team was fantastic against Chennaiyin but will need to be even better against Goa. "The last game gave us a chance to play a good game, to confirm that the team is better than the results were showing. The team won the game and gave a good performance. This is the best way to gain confidence. But we need to be better because we are playing against a great team and great players," he said.

"If you look for the team that played against Chennaiyin, it was basically the same team that played against Bengaluru. In both games, the work in midfield was very good. We managed to press, we managed to recover a lot of balls and managed to start our attacks many times while recovering the ball from midfield. The players now know my vision and concept better," said the 65-year-old.

The veteran coach also revealed that the mood in the camp has improved considerably since his arrival and the team was reaping the benefits. "When I arrived, many things were already here. My idea and concept, the way we play, is different. But in the beginning, I was feeling sadness in the players. It was a sad team. I was telling the players that if we do not bring happiness, we cannot win. And now the team is happy and we are getting the results," he said.
