Nassiri, Hnamte leave Mohun Bagan SG; Murray, Battochio part ways with Chennaiyin FC
In addition to parting ways with two young Indians, the Mariners have also signed a long-term deal with another promising young player.
Indian Super League (ISL) outfit Mohun Bagan Super Giant announced the departure of two footballers, Kiyan Nassiri and Lalrinliana Hnamte, on Thursday.
During their time with the Mariners, both young Indians won the ISL Cup last season and the Durand Cup and ISL League Shield this season. Having completed their contracts with the Kolkata club, both players will now seek a new chapter in their careers.

Nassiri had two goal contributions in his 16 appearances, while Hnamte, coming mostly as a substitute, clocked just 214 minutes in 13 matches.
Nassiri notably scored a remarkable 31-minute hat-trick against arch-rival East Bengal FC in the Kolkata Derby during the 2021-22 season, where his team was trailing by a goal until he came on from the bench. Since then, the versatile forward has been a regular face in the Mohun Bagan SG squad.

However, in the following ISL season, Nassiri struggled to open his goal-scoring account and ended the season without any goal involvement. The 23-year-old forward netted a single goal against Jamshedpur FC in the opening months of the just-concluded ISL season, where the Mariners edged past the Red Miners with a 3-2 scoreline.
In his 16 appearances this season, Nassiri completed 102 successful passes, created 11 chances, succeeded in nine dribbles, and won 32 duels.
On the other hand, Hnamte, who joined Mohun Bagan SG in 2022 from East Bengal FC, ended his two-year contract after featuring in 26 matches over the two seasons.
During the ISL 2023–24 season, Hnamte completed 126 successful passes, created seven chances, won 13 duels, and made 21 recoveries in his 13 appearances for the Mariners.
Dippendu Biswas pens long-term deal with Mohun Bagan SG
Dippendu Biswas was one of the players who emerged from the reserves side this season. Making his ISL debut in the latter half of the league, Biswas delivered an impressive performance under the guidance of Antonio Habas.

In his five appearances for the Mariners, the 21-year-old defender won 10 duels and completed 12 recoveries, made eight interceptions, while averaging 19 passes per game.
Following his strong performance with Mohun Bagan SG, the defender has now inked a three-year contract extension with the Kolkata-based club, keeping him with the team until the 2026–27 season.
Chennaiyin FC bid farewell to four players

Murray was the highest goal scorer for the club in the league, with five goals to his name. The Aussie forward played a pivotal role in Chennaiyin FC’s late playoff qualification. Besides scoring goals, he provided assists for two goals, created 13 chances, and won 110 duels in his 21 appearances.

Battocchio’s time with the club also comes to an end after playing a year under Owen Coyle's tutelage. The 32-year-old featured in 17 games for Chennaiyin FC, clocking 799 minutes in his first ISL season. The Italian midfielder averaged 22 passes per game, created seven chances, won 27 duels, and completed 49 recoveries.
The Marina Machans have also bid farewell to defender Sarthak Golui and midfielder Mobashir Rahaman, who were on loan from East Bengal FC until the end of the 2023-24 season. Golui joined Chennaiyin FC during the summer transfer window, while Rahaman reunited with his former coach in the winter transfer window.
