Mumbai City FC defender Nathan Rodrigues has been named the Emerging Player of the Month for November 2024. The 20-year-old Goa-born footballer delivered a stellar month, making valuable contributions on both ends of the pitch.

In addition to his defensive duties, Rodrigues scored twice and played a crucial role in the Islanders’ performances last month.

Rodrigues featured in all four of Mumbai City FC’s games in November, starting three matches and coming on as a substitute against Hyderabad FC. The defender scored his first-ever Indian Super League (ISL) goal in the Islanders’ 4-2 victory against Kerala Blasters FC.

He also scored the equalizer against Chennaiyin FC with a precise header in their very next match, where Petr Kratky’s men shared points against the Marina Machans in the 1000th match of the league.

A majority of the fifteen experts on the panel voted for Rodrigues as the standout player for November, with six ranking him first, two placing him second, and three selecting him as their third choice. The Mumbai City FC defender clinched the award over Chennaiyin FC’s Irfan Yadwad and Punjab FC’s Tekcham Abhishek Singh, who finished in second and third place, respectively.

Three panellists picked Yadwad as their top choice, while two ranked him second and two placed him third. Singh received two top-choice votes and one second-place vote.
