Mumbai City FC became the first Indian Super League (ISL) club to reach 100 wins in the league, following their 2-0 win over NorthEast United FC on Friday. The two-time ISL Shield and ISL Cup winners had to dig deep for this landmark victory.

Bipin Singh opened the scoring just before the first-half break, while Captain Lallianzuala Chhangte sealed the three points with a goal in second-half stoppage time.

Match Report: NorthEast United FC 0-2 Mumbai City FC

This victory saw Mumbai City FC leapfrog NorthEast United FC into fourth place in the standings, closing the gap to second-placed FC Goa to five points. With the race for direct semi-final qualification heating up, their push for a top-two finish remains alive.

Notably, this was also Mumbai City FC’s 12th win over NorthEast United FC—their joint-most against any team, alongside Chennaiyin FC and FC Goa. The Islanders have also registered ten victories against Kerala Blasters FC and nine against Bengaluru FC, further underlining their dominance in the league.

Mumbai City FC’s first-ever ISL win dates back to October 2014 when André Moritz’s hat-trick inspired a dominant 5-0 victory over FC Pune City at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.
