Mumbai City FC have completed the signing of former Jamshedpur FC defender Pratik Chaudhari to bolster their backline heading into Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2019-20. Born in the city of Mumbai, joining the Islanders will be sort of a homecoming for the 29-year-old.

Pratik began his professional career back in 2011 with Hero I-League side Air India and went on to represent clubs like Rangdajied United, Mohun Bagan and Mumbai FC. He was also a part of the Mohun Bagan squad which won the Hero I-League back in 2014-15. Pratik’s Hero ISL debut came for Kerala Blasters FC in the 2016 campaign in a match against ATK. The defender turned out for the Men in Yellow a total of eight times that term.

He was signed up for Delhi Dynamos FC for the 2017-18 season and he played 11 times for the Lions. Last season, Pratik was in Jamshedpur FC's books and took the field in nine matches, helping them finish fifth.

Pratik is a versatile player and can operate both at centre back and right back with equal ease. His experience will also add a lot to the Islanders' backline which is in the process of being rebuilt after Lucian Goian's departure from the club.
