Mohun Bagan Super Giant defender Dippendu Biswas has been voted as the Emerging Player of the Month for February 2025 after putting in solid performance in the Mariners backline.

The 21-year-old started three out of Mariners’ four fixtures appearing as a substitute in the other. He helped Jose Molina’s team to three clean sheets in all three of his starts. He also displayed his versatility by also playing as a right-back in one of the games.

He also provided an assist each in the team’s wins over Mohammedan SC and Punjab FC showcasing his all-round contribution to the team.

Biswas is enjoying a breakthrough season with the Mariners having featured in 13 matches for the League Shield winners, more than doubling his tally for appearances from last season.

The 21-year-old was voted as their top choice for the February award by seven out of the 13 voting experts while one placed him in the third spot. He finished ahead of FC Goa duo of midfielder Brison Fernandes who won the award for January 2025 and goalkeeper Hrithin Tiwari.

This is Biswas’ first Emerging Player of the Month award and he is also the first Mohun Bagan Super Giant player to receive this prize this season.
