Mumbai City FC’s Lalrindika Ralte, better known as Didika or Dika, was voted “Player of the Week” for the week ending 07 December 2014. He played a vital role in Mumbai’s victory over Atlético de Kolkata that kept Mumbai in contention for a semi-final spot.The Mizo midfielder has appeared in all of Mumbai’s 13 games in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) so far. He has one goal and a couple of assists to his credit. Didika opened the scoring against Kolkata with a composed finish and also provided a wonderful delivery from a set piece for Manuel Friedrich to head past Edel Bete for the matchwinner. Didika is one the emerging talents in the Indian side, having represented the senior national team 12 times and is renowned for his long range striking ability with his wicked left foot. He is also very good on the ball and has showcased his capabilities in getting past players with ease in the ISL.Didika topped the polls for this week with a whopping 44% of the votes. Romeo Fernandes of FC Goa was second with 28% whereas the other three nominees – Sandip Nandy (Kerala Blasters FC), Gustavo dos Santos (Delhi Dynamos FC) and Dudu Omagbemi (FC Pune City) – shared the remainder of the votes, though not in equal measure.
