Kerala Blasters FC announced their first signing of the summer as they roped in right-back Amey Ranawade on a five-year deal.

The 27-year-old is a seasoned professional in the ISL with 81 appearances to his name with Odisha FC, Mumbai City FC and FC Goa. The full-back has won the ISL League Shield twice with the Gaurs and Islanders and also won the ISL Cup with the latter.

So, Ranawade brings with him plenty of experience and winning mentality to the Kerala Blasters FC camp.

Ranawade featured prominently last season, appearing in 22 ISL matches, starting 18 and clocking 1,675 minutes. His attacking prowess was matched by defensive solidity. He won 48 duels, made 20 successful tackles and completed 49 recoveries, while also contributing 16 chances created.

The defender expressed his delight at joining the club.

“I’m proud and excited to join Kerala Blasters FC,” he told the club website.

“I have always admired the passion surrounding this club and I genuinely believe in the project being built here. I express my gratitude to the management for their confidence in me. This is a big opportunity and responsibility to represent Kerala Blasters. I am fully committed to giving my best every single day to help the team succeed,” he added.

Jerry Mawihmingthanga and Odisha FC part ways

Indian Super League (ISL) side Odisha FC announced the departure of winger Jerry Mawihmingthanga, who leaves the club after six memorable seasons.

Mawihmingthanga had already experienced the ISL with NorthEast United FC and Jamshedpur FC, but it was in Bhubaneswar that he truly found his footballing home.

"You grew with us, and we grew with you. From the early days in 2019 to the battles, the celebrations, the hugs, and the goals, every picture tells a story, and every story has you at its heart, Jerry as we flip through these memories, one thing is clear: this goodbye is only to the jersey, never to the bond," said Odisha FC in a statement.
