SC East Bengal are still without a win in their four matches. They lost two and drew two.

Hira Mondal was awarded the Hero of the Match award for his resolute and solid defending at the back. He was up against the pacy and skillful winger Lallianzuala Chhangte and later on Antonio Perosevic.

In the backdrop of the draw against Chennaiyin FC, coach Diaz addressed the media during the official post-match conference.

Here are the excerpts from the press conference.

SCEB is without a win in four matches. What do you make of it?

Today’s result is very important. Chennaiyin FC had options but we kept a clean sheet. We also had chances at the other end. It’s a good start for improving our level.

Hira Mondal, Daniel Chima and Amarjit Singh started their first game today. Are you happy with their performances?

They played a good match but they must improve.

Can you tell us more about Mohammed Rafique's injury tonight?

He played both matches for 90 minutes. We hope it’s just tired legs and tired muscles.

SCEB lost the last match 6-4, how did you motivate your players after that loss?

In the last match we made a lot of mistakes but the players remained positive. They wanted to improve their performance.

A lot was said about SC East Bengal before the match, do you think after today’s result a win is possible in the near future?

Against Odisha we lost the match in the first 12 minutes. We made big mistakes. But today Chennaiyin FC had opportunities to score and so did our team. We could have won the match and we hope that we win a match in near future.
