This will add an element of short-term planning to the squad planning for ISL Fantasy managers which will add to the intrigue.
When it comes to gaining an edge over your peers in the short or long term, it’s important to target the right games in a matchweek and also identify players that can boost your rank.
An ISL Fantasy team must have the right balance between template and differential to surge up the rankings and we are here to give you the best tips on how to make a team for matchweek 9 and 10 that can help you get your hands on the Petratos-signed matchball.
Matches to target
Every match is an opportunity to score points but form and certain situations make certain games vital for ISL Fantasy points.
In Matchweek 9, we feel the game between Mohun Bagan and Jamshedpur FC at the Salt Lake stadium has the potential to deliver big points haul.
Khalid Jamil’s men have been very leaky in the last few games and will face a Mohun Bagan SG side that are close to hitting their best form. There are few ISL sides that are stronger than the Mariners at home and targeting Mariners’ attacking assets might be a very solid plan. However, Mohun Bagan SG do give their opponents a chance and Jamshedpur FC have goals in them so their attackers might be a good differential pick especially with the Men of Steel facing Mohammedan SC at home in MW10.
Kerala Blasters FC will also host Chennaiyin FC in Kochi. The two teams share a strong rivalry and with both teams needing points, expect it to be an open game. Chennaiyin FC matches have been very open this season, a prospect that the Blasters will relish, especially playing at home. They would want to make the game stretched so that they can make the most of the energy from the stands.

In matchweek 10, Hyderabad FC travel to Mumbai City FC and this could serve up big hauls. Mumbai City FC are slowly finding their feet and were excellent in their win against Kerala Blasters FC at home. They will fancy their chances against Hyderabad FC but so will the visitors of finding the back of the net against a Mumbai City FC defence which isn’t the strongest even at home.
Both Jamshedpur FC and Mohammedan SC have an expected goals tally of over eight and have conceded more goals than their expected goals against tallies. So, this game can see a lot of goals. Coupled with a desperate need for points for both teams after recent results, this game might be a good one to target in MW10.
Chances like this don't come around often 😉

Top differential picks for Matchweek 9 and 10
Luka Majcen (Punjab FC - 6% ownership)
The Slovenian has a great track record in Indian football and has already scored a brace since returning from his injury. Punjab FC play twice in MW9 before missing out in MW10 and face NorthEast United FC and Mumbai City FC, neither of whom are the most water-tight defensively. He is a solid differential to own and make the most of his low ownership before he gets back into the limelight.
Kwame Peprah (Kerala Blasters - 4% ownership)
The Ghanaian footballer will be back from suspension and will be a much-needed boost for the Blasters in MW 9&10. Mikel Stahre’s men play two home games in this period and Peprah’s energy will be hugely beneficial. Up against FC Goa and Chennaiyin FC, two of the worst defensive sides in the ISL this season, expect Kerala Blasters FC to get on the scoresheet in these games. Peprah has three goals and two assists so far this season and is a great differential player to own in MW 19 and 10.
Manvir Singh (Mohun Bagan SG - 3% ownership)
The Mariners striker has hit form and has a goal contribution in each of his last three matches. He faces a fragile defences of Jamshedpur FC and Chennaiyin FC in the next two matchweeks and will hope to continue his form in front of goal. Manvir is equally involved in setting up attacks and has an excellent work rate which means he consistently racks up points for passes completed and interceptions won.
Andrei Alba (Hyderabad FC - 2% ownership)
The Hyderabad FC midfielder is a real asset and has clocked a minimum of four points in all the matchweeks that he has featured in. He has two goals and an assist to his name and is a points magnet when it comes to completing passes and making interceptions. At a price of ₹5 crore, he is an absolute steal.
Iker Guarrotxena (FC Goa - 1% ownership)
The Spaniard is a proven goalscorer in the ISL and his return to fitness has boosted FC Goa. He already has a goal and an assist despite starting just one game. Expect him to have regular minutes in a Gaurs shirt and he will be a real goal threat. At just 1% ownership, he is a very solid differential. Pick him early and you could get ahead of the curve.
