With this recognition, he becomes the first-ever Hero ISL player to feature in a Team of the Season (TOTS).

Bartholomew Ogbeche, who has played for three clubs before Hyderabad FC — NorthEast United, Kerala Blasters, Mumbai City — has featured in 77 matches of the Hero ISL, scoring 53 goals. The 37-years-old Nigerian's individual brilliance and ability to score even against the run of play set him apart from the rest. He is a dominant centre-forward who is also adept at scoring with his head. Moreover, it is quite difficult to figure out which is his weaker foot as he has scored goals from both. Out of the 47 goals which Hyderabad have scored last season, 18 were scored by the Nigerian which accounts for a staggering 39.1%.

With his consistent performances over the years, he has proved that he can fit into any system or style. He has been successful under Eelco Schattorie, did have decent success under Sergio Lobera, and even with Manuel Marquez, he has flourished. It must be noted that all three managers have distinctly different philosophies and yet the Nigerian has settled in seamlessly into their plans.

Ogbeche under Marquez thrived at Hyderabad’s youth-infused setup. The 37-year-old was central to Hyderabad’s fortunes in attack and his ability to muscle out defenders, create room on the pitch and bury the ball into the back of the net have made him a “weapon” for Hyderabad FC last season.

The Nigerian forward's contribution to Hyderabad FC’s high-flying season of success finds a special space in all the fans’ hearts and they would be hoping that their star striker stays at the club for another season.
