Harm van Veldhoven, manager of Delhi Dynamos FC, was satisfied with his team’s organisation in their last match against Atlético de Kolkata, but pinpointed areas which needed improvement. “In the last game, we tried to get the ball higher (up the pitch). We did see some problems in the midfield. We would like to play a little higher and we would also like to play a more attacking game,” he said at the pre-match press conference.Keeping this in mind, Harm also analysed the tactics of today’s match opponents, Chennaiyin FC. He stated, “What I have seen in Chennai is that they play mostly on the counter. This tactic may seem to have been working for them as they have picked up the points and are looking very dangerous. Chennai play with five at the back and they try to play on the counter so it will be difficult.”Dynamos defender Anwar Ali, who has represented the Indian national team with distinction in the past, emphasised the importance of the upcoming two home games for the Dynamos. “The Chennai team is very good; they’ve got six points out of six. The next two games are very important for us, the ones against Chennai and NorthEast. If we win these two games and go into our away fixtures with maximum points, we will have a great advantage over the others,” Ali quipped.Manager Van Veldhoven, when questioned by the media about Alessandro Del Piero’s fitness, said, “I think Alessandro’s favoured position is the no 10 position but of course, you need a lot of power to contribute, so we will see game by game how well he can cope with it.”The only injury concerns troubling the team right now is Morten Skoubo’s knee injury and Pavel Eliáš’s problem with his shoulder. “Skoubo has a knee problem. He can play but we will make the final decision tomorrow,” van Veldhoven said.
