FC Goa started their Hero Indian Super League Season 2 [ISL] campaign off to a flier with an impressive 2-0 win against Delhi Dynamos FC at Fatorda’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Sunday. The euphoria resulting from that win has died down and now they are ready for another cracking encounter, this time against reigning champions Atlético de Kolkata who also won their opener against Chennaiyin FC 3-2 on the first day of the league.Ahead of the game, FC Goa coach Zico addressed the media and answered some tough questions. When reminded of that his team had slacked off quite a bit in the second half against Delhi Dynamos FC, Zico replied in a relaxed manner: “We made the best of our attack. There is no point in controlling the game if the outcome is not dangerous.”Atlético have always proven to be a tough nut to crack for FC Goa. Last season, both sides met four times but the Goan team failed to win any of those encounters, though held the champions to a draw thrice. Zico said he thought this time too there was no clear favourite. “At the moment it’s hard to pick a favourite, both teams are on top. Though I can say there is a lot of motivation to win every game. We want to be in the final.”Brazilian midfielder Leo Moura was alongside Zico at the press meet and likened the atmosphere in Fatorda to the one in Brazil. “The atmosphere in the stadium was [reminiscent of] Brazil. Spoke to my friend Andre Santos [who played for FC Goa last season] and he gave me an idea of the league. It feels like home here,” Moura said.Romeo Fernandes and Mandar Rao Dessai are the most celebrated midfielders in the FC Goa team but Moura said Denson Devadas was equally influential in the midfield. “He is an important player. They all are [Indians], or else they wouldn’t be in FC Goa. They give us confidence to play our game,” Moura concluded.
