Delhi Dynamos FC will face their final test of the Hero Indian Super League (Hero ISL) 2018-19 season when they go up against ATK at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan on Sunday. The Lions have been in fine form since the winter break and are currently on a six-match unbeaten run.

Delhi head coach Josep Gombau was present at the pre-match press conference ahead of the fixture. He began by reliving his team’s dramatic turnaround following a horrid start to the season. "We were, at the start, very unlucky with our position. We were in a process with a lot of young players. We played well in matches but didn’t get the results. In the last six games, we are getting results which is something good for us. We play game-by-game. Tomorrow is another game. We will try to do our best and try to win and try to finish as high up in the table as we can," he said.

The Spaniard also confirmed that apart from the suspended Marti Crespi, he would have the full roster to choose from on Sunday. "Yes, we have one player with suspension, which is Marti Crespi. He got his 4th yellow card in the last game in Pune. He’s unavailable to play tomorrow. We have no injuries," he said.

Pressed for a comment on his contribution behind the emergence of several youngsters in the Delhi squad, a humble Gombau stated, "I think it’s not because of me that they are scoring. We are working together. We have a good pool of young players. A lot of players in the squad are from U-23. Normally, every single game, we play with four-five U-23 players on the field. If they get the chance, they get confidence, they do well. They are growing and I am satisfied to be their coach. They have done well all season."

Lallianzuala Chhangte has been Delhi's standout player this season and currently stands as the team's highest scorer with five goals. Speaking about the youngster's impact, Gombau said, "He is a very important player for us. As a player, he’s doing well. He’s getting a lot of time. And yes, for us, he is important. But the other players are also important. I just don’t see the results. I also see the progression of the team. I am satisfied with these players."

The 42-year-old concluded his pre-match briefing with an analysis of the ATK squad. "ATK are a very good team. They have very good Indian and foreign players in their squad. It will be a tough game for us. It will be a difficult game. But I think, we are doing well, and we have confidence and I think we can do a good job tomorrow. All Hero ISL games are very even," he said.
