Former Mumbai City FC head coach Jorge Costa dies aged 53
Costa became the head coach of Mumbai City FC in 2018 and coached the side for two seasons taking them to the semi-finals in ISL 2018-19, only the second time in the club’s history.

Jorge Costa, former head coach of Mumbai City FC died aged 53 on Monday.
The coach suffered a cardiac arrest at the FC Porto’s training centre on Monday, according to reports.
Mumbai City FC confirmed the news as they paid their tribute to their former coach.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of our former Head Coach, Jorge Costa.
A leader, a fighter, and a true part of the Mumbai City family, Jorge was at the helm between 2018 and 2020.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones during this difficult time.
Rest in peace, Jorge 🙏,” the club tweeted.

Costa became the head coach of Mumbai City FC in 2018 and coached the side for two seasons taking them to the semi-finals in ISL 2018-19, only the second time in the club’s history.
The Portuguese had a stellar playing career before venturing into coaching as he captained FC Porto to the UEFA Champions League glory in 2004 and also made 50 appearances for Portugal.
