Atlético de Kolkata suffered their first defeat of the Hero Indian Super League as they went down 1-3 to FC Pune City. Nigerian striker Dudu put the visitors ahead on 35 minutes and Kostas Katsouranis doubled the lead soon after half-time. Kolkata managed to pull a late goal back through a Fikru penalty in the 83rd minute but Pune put the game to bed when Davide Colomba smashed in an 89th-minute free kick.Kolkata got off to the better start, moving the ball constantly. Cavin Lobo, in for the suspended Jofre, was the main creative force in attack, while the returning Fikru kept the Pune back line occupied. However, as the half progressed, Pune started to get more involved in the game. They finally got their reward when Davide Colomba put in a superb cross from the left for Dudu to head his team into the lead, their first goal in an away game. As Kolkata pushed forward in search of an equaliser, Pune found more space in the opposition half and could have extended their lead, with Kolkata keeper Subhasish Roy Chowdhury keeping the score at 1-0 with a couple of fine saves.Taking a lead into the second half allowed Pune to play with more freedom and confidence, as they started the half on the front foot. Kolkata nearly found a spectacular equaliser, with Fikru smashing an overhead kick just wide of the post, but soon found themselves down by two goals. Pune’s Greek star Kostas, who had had a quiet game until that point, drove towards goal and unleashed a terrific shot into the top corner with the outside of his right boot.Kolkata showed even greater urgency to get back into the game, but Pune kept them at bay. However, Kolkata were gifted a route back into the game when Pune keeper Arindam Bhattacharya clattered into Fikru as the two chased a long ball into the box. The Ethiopian striker stepped up and put away the subsequent penalty with precision. Kolkata’s comeback was halted immediately, however, when Colomba smashed a low free kick through the Kolkata wall after Josemi’s foul just outside the box to seal an impressive win.Pune move up to third in the standings after a second straight win, and will hope to continue their winning momentum in their next game, a home fixture against Chennaiyin FC on November 11. Despite the loss, Kolkata stay on top, and next play on November 14, also against Chennaiyin FC, at home.Match Awards:Hero of the Match: Dudu Omagbemi (Watch here)Swift Moment of the Match: Kostas Katsouranis (Watch here)Amul Fittest Player of the Match: Davide Colomba (Watch here)ISL Emerging Player of the Match: Cavin Lobo
