FC Goa re-sign Sahil Tavora on multi-year contract
The Indian midfielder will make his return to the Gaurs after seven seasons.
Indian Super League (ISL) club FC Goa, on Sunday, announced the arrival of midfielder Sahil Tavora on a multi-year contract. This marks Tavora’s second stint with the Gaurs, having previously represented the club in ISL 2016.
Tavora began his football career with Brasil Futebol Academia and Sesa Football Academy in Goa before moving to Dempo SC in 2013. After spending two years in the Dempo SC academy, Tavora was promoted to the main squad ahead of the 2015 season. Following a year with the senior squad, Tavora was signed by FC Goa ahead of ISL 2016.
Tavora, 28, made six appearances under Zico, clocking 333 minutes. The midfielder made his ISL debut in a 2-1 defeat to FC Pune City. He scored two goals in the final league game against Chennaiyin FC, with the scoreline ending 5-4 in favour of the Gaurs.

Thereafter, Tavora has plied his trade with Mumbai City FC, Portuguese side Alvarenga, Hyderabad FC, and most recently with Punjab FC, on loan from Hyderabad FC.
His most notable stint came with Hyderabad FC, where he spent five seasons before returning to FC Goa. He was a key member of the Hyderabad FC side that won the ISL Cup in the 2021-22 season. In fact, he scored the equalizing goal for his side in the final in the 88th minute from long range, before they edged past Kerala Blasters FC 4-2 in the penalty shootout.
Tavora has so far made 86 appearances in the league with three goals and one assist to his name, in addition to his natural duties as a midfielder. His addition will definitely strengthen Manolo Marquez’s side ahead of the new ISL season.
