East Bengal FC on Thursday announced that midfielder Madih Talal will miss the rest of the Indian Super League (ISL) season due to an injury.

The midfielder sustained a knee injury during the club’s match against Odisha FC on December 12th. Madih Talal’s injury has cut short his ISL campaign as he is sidelines for the rest of the season.

“Emami East Bengal FC midfielder Madih Talal unfortunately suffered a knee injury in the recent home match against Odisha FC. After evaluating his medical reports, the club can confirm that he will be ruled out for the remainder of the 2024-25 ISL season. We wish Madih a speedy recovery and will share updates on future developments,” a club statement said.

Talal, the 27-year-old playmaker, had committed to East Bengal with a two-year contract, securing his stay until 2026. This season, he has contributed one goal and one assist in the league across 10 appearances.

East Bengal FC will face Jamshedpur FC on Saturday.
