Indian Super League (ISL) club Jamshedpur FC edged past Indian Army FT by a 1-0 scoreline at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur on Tuesday.

With that victory, the Men of Steel have secured six points from their opening two matches, solidifying their position at the top of Group C.

Jamshedpur FC made two changes in their lineup as Sourav Das and Karthik made it to the starting XI. However, Khalid Jamil's men looked shaky from the offset on their home turf.

Indian Army FT brought in more intensity in the game, creating a couple of chances with Samir Murmu, Sunil B, Samananda Singh, and others. On the other hand, the hosts stayed patient while waiting for their chances.

With both teams barely having clear-cut chances, the first half ended up on level terms.

Jamshedpur FC started the second half on a positive note as Mohammed Sanan broke the deadlock in the 52nd minute. Sanan controlled the lofted header with a beautiful chest trap, and his clinical right-footed half-volley found the back of the net, bringing the hosts ahead in the game.

Indian Army FT created numerous chances during the second half but lacked precision in the final third. They went down to 10 men as Kadir, the IAFT goalkeeper, was shown a direct red card for bringing down Jayesh Rane in a one-on-one situation. VP Suhair also had a golden chance in the dying seconds of the second half, but his shot rattled the crossbar as the scoreline remained unchanged.

The visitors had 56 percent ball possession, had 12 corners, and attempted 16 shots; however, it was Sanan’s goal that took Jamshedpur FC over the line.

The Men of Steel will next face 1 Ladakh FC on August 8 at the Furnace.
