Mark Luijpers: Disappointed by the result.Delhi Dynamos FC’s stand-in coach Mark Luijpers was most disappointed with the 1-4 defeat at the hands of FC Goa in the national capital today but added that the defeat was totally unexpected. “It was a very disappointing evening for us. For the first 10 minutes we tried to put a lot of pressure on them. It wasn’t totally what we expected. In first half we had a lot of space on the sides. Goa had a lot of people in the middle but we didn’t use that properly,” he said at the post-match press conference. When queried about why marquee player Alessandro Del Piero did not figure in the match despite being on the bench, Luijpers responded, “I think many players didn’t get a chance. We had to take out Robert (Lalthlamuana) because of injury and then it is very difficult to replace him with foreign players. After a scoreline of 2-0 and 3-0, there wasn’t much need to change after that.”The Dynamos seemed to lack the fighting spirit today but the coach and players are optimistic that Sunday will be another day when they take on Kerala Blasters FC at home. They still believe that they can make the last four and hope to perform better in the remaining six games.“A lot of improvement needs to be made. We have six games to go,” the Dutch official said. “Tomorrow we will watch the video of this game and learn our lessons. We still believe in our team and it’s still possible (to qualify). Sunday will be a new game for us and we hope to make the most of it.”
