Delhi Dynamos marquee man Alessandro Del Piero spoke to FIFA.com ahead of the upcoming announcement of the FIFA Ballon d'Or award for 2014. The Ballon d'Or is the highest individual accolade in world football, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Manuel Neuer contesting for the honour this year.Along with examining the three finalists and the FIFA World Coach of the Year nominees, the Italian legend was also asked about his assessment of the Hero Indian Super League. Del Piero took the opportunity to express his optimism for the potential of Indian football, saying that there is a bright future on the horizon.“It has extraordinary potential, as you’d expect in such a hugely populated country with so many youngsters and such determination to grow. The experiment with the Indian Super League has provided a roadmap. They have a long way to go, but I’m convinced football there will make great strides.
