His breakthrough came during the 2022-23 campaign, where he established himself as a vital component of the team's defensive setup in his debut ISL season. His ability to transition seamlessly between defence and attack was evident throughout the season, contributing five assists from his position as a full-back.
In the subsequent 2023-24 season, Sangwan continued to showcase his quality on the field, further solidifying his reputation as a dependable full-back. With two goals and three assists in just 15 appearances, he played a pivotal role in Chennaiyin FC’s run to the playoffs, where the club qualified for the knockouts after three seasons.
Among his memorable moments in the recent season were his goals. His first goal came against Kerala Blasters FC, with his decisive strike securing a crucial victory for Chennaiyin FC. Later on during the season, he netted a remarkable Olympic goal during the draw against NorthEast United FC further highlighting his ability as a goal-scoring defender.
