Indian Super League (ISL) club Chennaiyin FC, on Thursday, announced the departure of Ryan Edwards.

Edwards was an integral part of Owen Coyle’s system since joining the club in 2023. He featured in 42 games for the Marina Machans during his two-year stint.

Edwards logged 1548 minutes in his 20 appearances in the 2024-25 season. He registered two clean sheets and also scored a goal. He also played a pivotal role in CFC’s dramatic playoff qualification in the 2023-24 season.

A leader at the back, the English defender won 70 duels, 12 tackles, completed 60 recoveries, and 16 blocks, and also averaged 28 passes per match in the 2024-25 season.

Majcen leaves Punjab FC

Punjab FC parted ways with forward and club captain Luka Majcen.

The Slovenian forward played a crucial role in the Shers’ debut ISL campaign. Majcen returned to PFC at the start of the 2024-25 season and was effective all throughout the season.

The PFC captain has been the driving force in their forward line, as he ended up as the club’s leading scorer in the ISL.

Majcen scored a total of 10 goals in the 2024-25 season. Despite suffering a jaw injury in the opening game of the season, he made a quick comeback to contribute to his team. The forward remained instrumental in their final third, averaging 0.5 goals per match. He also racked up three assists and created 14 chances.

Majcen also won 55 duels, attempted 216 successful passes, and completed 19 recoveries, maintaining a 28.57% goal conversion rate.
