Hero Indian Super League 2015 will witness the clash of the Brazilians on Sunday. While Zico leads FC Goa into the battlefield for the second time running, it would be a completely new challenge for first-timer Roberto Carlos who would be taking on the twin roles of marquee player as well as manager for Delhi Dynamos FC this season. In a pre-match press conference, the ex-Brazil international talked about walking the fine line between being a coach and a player. “It was much easier for me as a player, I must admit. I trained, I slept, woke up and went to play. That’s all. But as a coach, it gets tougher. The team selection, player roles and tactics, phew! Becomes much harder,” Carlos said.“However, I have come here to play the league [ISL] and become a part of it. I thank them to give me this opportunity.”Accompanying him was Shylo Malsawmtluanga, Shylo Mama to fans, who dons Delhi Dynamos FC colours for the second time. Speaking about the mood of his team-mates, the Mizoramese winger said, “I’m happy with the team, it’s a dream to share the dressing room with legends like Carlos. We are technically better this year and have had a good pre-season in Europe. And of course, we’ll be aiming for all three points.” Manager Carlos is aware of the Brazilian presence in Goa. “Goa is a tough opponent, but our pre-season was good, so I expect it to be a tough game. Not worried about the Brazilian contingent in Goa, since we have a good mix of Indian and foreign players that’ll help our cause,” he said. However, since this would be his first time, and that too in a country where he enjoys a massive fan following, all eyes would be on his success rate. “Everyone talks about strategy and system. The best strategy is the one that gives victory. For that you need good players, which we do have. Now it’s time for these players to show their qualities. Not worried about system and strategy. You can win even if you’re not having a good game,” he said.“So my message to my team would be to simply play good football and have fun,” he concluded.
