NorthEast United FC continue to make splurges in the transfer market and have signed onboard Augustine Okrah as their latest international recruit ahead of Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2018-19. The Ghanaian, the Highlanders fourth foreign player for the upcoming season, is a winger who can double up as an attacking midfielder.

Okrah began his growing up years as a part of Bechem United and Red Bull Ghana’s squad, both Ghanaian-based clubs. It’s in Asante Kotoko that he started his professional career in 2012. After three seasons, he decided to shift base to Sudan, plying his trade for Al-Merrikh SC and later Al-Hilal Club.
NorthEast will be the 24-year-old’s first stint outside Africa, in a completely different continent and atmosphere. However, his reunion with Highlanders head coach Eelco Schattorie, under whom he played in Red Bull Ghana, will surely help him in settling down.
With NorthEast’s focus all set on boosting their attacking strength after the disappointment of 2017-18, Okrah will surely be a good option to have in the squad to bolster that department.
