ATK have added Australian forward Eli Babalj to their squad after the injury to striker Emiliano Alfaro. The Uruguayan will be out of action for a lengthy period with an ankle injury he suffered during training.

To recall, Alfaro was roped in by ATK on a loan deal from FC Pune City last week. He was supposed to replace Kalu Uche, who picked up a muscle injury earlier in the season which ruled him out till January at least.

Babalj has represented clubs in the Australian league, most notably Adelaide United and Melbourne Heart. He has also played and scored for Serbian Superliga side Red Star Belgrade. On the international front, the 26-year-old has represented his country in youth levels and has also earned two caps for the senior team.

Babalj was a surprise inclusion in Steve Coppell’s squad for their Hero ISL encounter against Mumbai City FC on Saturday and started from the bench.
