FC Pune City will look to end an otherwise disappointing campaign on a high when they take on Chennaiyin FC in their 2015 Hero Indian Super League game at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Stadium in Pune on Saturday. The outcome of the match will decide as to who will be the fourth semi-finalists. If Pune win, Chennai will be out, and if Chennai win or there is a draw, they will advance to the next stage. Didier Zokora, who won’t feature in the match due of suspension, spoke to indiansuperleague.com and shared his thoughts. Here are the excerpts. What went wrong for FC Pune City in the second half of the league stage? It’s difficult to accept that we haven’t qualified this season. We were one of top teams in the first half of the league stage and suddenly we see ourselves out of contention. Luck hasn’t been favoring us from the past few games and it’s extremely saddening for all of us to be in this state. We had the best squad on paper and had begun the campaign with a bang but somehow the latter half of the league stage just hasn’t been as per our plan. You will be watching the match against Chennai from the sidelines due to suspension. How does it feel and what are you going to tell the team? It’s extremely sad that I won’t be able to be a part of the squad in our last match of the season. Like I said it is just very unfortunate that we haven’t been able to make the cut and it’s very difficult to accept. My only suggestion to the players will be to just go out there and play fearlessly and express themselves.Which Indian players have impressed you the most this season?I have always maintained that all the Indian players are extremely talented. All of them are very hardworking and top-notch, I hope they keep performing to their best. Eugeneson Lyndoh and Bikash Jairu are very talented."The fans have been extremely supportive and cheered for us throughout the season."Didier ZokoraThoughts on the fans and the support you've got this season…The fans have been extremely supportive and cheered for us throughout the season. I would like to apologise to all our fans across the world who have stood by us. We shall be back stronger. What has been the highlight of your ISL experience? It is the support and passion for football this country has. What are your plans for the next season?Well, nothing is decided yet. For now I would want to go back home to Ivory Coast and have a break. But I would personally love to be back playing for FC Pune City.
