FC Pune City failed to overcome the Chennaiyin FC barrier as they went down fighting 1-0 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai on Sunday. Gregory Nelson’s 83rd-minute goal ensured Chennai’s undefeated Hero Indian Super League (ISL) record against the Stallions remained intact. The visitors’ custodian Vishal Kaith made a splendid penalty save off Rene Mihelic’s weak spot kick but failed to keep a clean sheet at the end of the night. While speaking to indiansuperleague.com post-match, a dejected Kaith shared his views on the match. Here are the excerpts.

Your thoughts on the match.

In the first half, we had a number of opportunities but could not convert them. In the second half, Chennai played better. They got one chance and they scored.

Tell us something about the penalty you saved. Did you read it or did you guess?

At first, I was trying to guess. But later when I saw his (Mihelic) footwork, I read which side he was going to shoot and saved it.

What are your chances of making the top four this season?

We have three games at home, so we will focus more on them now. We have to do well in all our home matches, improve ourselves and try our best in our next matches. We will try to remain in top form.

Would you say that Pune missed Marcelinho in tonight's match?

We missed Marcelinho a lot. We could've earned more opportunities to attack if he was a part of the squad.
