Sahil Tavora has notched up 108 minutes of game time in his two appearances for FC Goa in Hero Indian Super League 2016. The Gaurs midfielder has completed one interception, two successful tackles, two crosses, one key pass and has a passing accuracy of 74% for last season’s runners-up heading into their fixture against Kerala Blasters FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Monday evening. The 21-year-old spoke to indiansuperleague.com ahead of the clash and shared his thoughts. Here are the excerpts from the interview. How has the experience been so far in your first season?I think for me it’s been a very good experience. I’m one of the younger players in the team. So I try to learn as much as possible from the more experienced pros and the coach as well. I try to take on board as much as possible. For me it’s been great so far.How has it been playing alongside Joffre?Joffre has been like a father figure because he has helped me in training sessions as well as when I’m playing. He gives me advice. Obviously, he is very experienced and has played for Barcelona and many other teams and it is his third season in the ISL, so he has helped me a lot.Kerala Blasters have got a solid defence with the likes of Sandesh Jhingan, Aaron Hughes and Cedric Hengbart making up their backline. What are your thoughts on that?Obviously going into the game, we respect them. They have got great players like the ones you mentioned. But obviously it’s our home game and we want to play some good attacking football and do as well as we can. Work hard and get the three points.Message for your fans…I would just like to say that things haven’t exactly gone our way at the start of the season. But the last two results have been positive. And we would just continue to work harder, do our best to make fans happy. Can we expect two wins in the upcoming two home games?I think going into these games it would be wrong for us not to want six points. So we would go and work to get all six points. But we know in football everything is possible. We can only give our 100% and hope for the best outcome.
