Mohamed Sissoko helped FC Pune City to their first home point of the 2016 Hero Indian Super League after a 1-1 draw against Kerala Blasters FC at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Stadium in Balewadi on Monday. The Stallions’ marquee player found the back of the net in the 68th minute to equalise for his side after Cedric Hengbart scored three minutes into the game to give the Blasters an early lead. Sissoko put in a commanding performance in midfield and made one key pass, three blocks as well as five successful tackles. The Malian, who also collected the Maruti-Suzuki-Swift-Moment-of-the-Match award, spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the game. Here are the excerpts from the interview. What do you think, this is one point won or three points lost?Firstly, we wanted to win but unfortunately we did not win. 1-1 for us is not a good result but we did not lose, so it is okay. What about your first goal. Does it feel good to come here and score your first goal?Yeah, it’s good for my confidence. Right now, we need to rest a lot as the next game is very important. The coach has been talking a lot about not conceding goals? What are your thoughts on that?Yes, it is true. We as a team need to be focussed and not concede goals. Today we conceded but it is okay, that’s football. What are you going to do in the next game to ensure you get the three points? We are going to fight to win the game and let’s see what happens.
