FC Pune City’s marquee player Mohamed Sissoko made his Hero ISL bow in the Stallions’ 2-1 win over last season’s runners-up FC Goa at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Saturday evening. This was Pune City’s first win of the season, and Sissoko was delighted at his team’s fine away win against one of the most consistent teams in the league. The former Liverpool midfielder spoke to indiansuperleague.com following the victory and shared his thoughts. Here are the excerpts from the interview.This was your first game in the ISL. What are your initial thoughts?I’m very happy today as we won the game, played really well and were well organized. Now we have to focus on the next game.You have played all around the world, seven different clubs. What do you think about the fans and the atmosphere in the stadium today?I was very happy with the fans in the stadium. The Indian Super League is going in the upward direction so I’m very happy to be here.Are you happy with your performance?After six months without playing, I’m very happy to play the full 90 minutes. I think step by step I am going to improve and going to add to this team.What’s the atmosphere like in the team?We have good team spirit, everybody wants to contribute, and everybody works together. We are like a family which is very important.How has your experience been with head coach Antonio Habas so far?I know him since I was 17 years old, he is still the same. All the data is important for him to improve. It is very good to have a manager like him.
