Mumbai City FC’s last outing in a Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2018-19 fixture was one to forget after they suffered a 5-0 defeat at the hands of FC Goa. Saturday will, however, be a new day for the Islanders, who will look to get back to winning ways when they host Delhi Dynamos FC at the Mumbai Football Arena.

Ahead of the fixture, indiansuperleague.com caught up with Mumbai City FC star Sauvik Chakrabarti for an exclusive interview.

What is the mood in the camp after the last match?

See, the last match we lost 5-0. So, right now people are feeling bad but we have to bounce back. So, we have to slowly build our focus up for the next match because there isn't a lot of time for recovery. We have to forget what happened in the last match and start afresh.

Thoughts on Delhi Dynamos FC's side?

As a team, Delhi Dynamos are very good. Their goalkeeper is very strong. He performed well in their last match too. Their foreign recruits are nice and their Indian players have quality and are good. So, as a team, they are a good side.

On adjusting to life at Mumbai City FC.

It's all good. It's all fine. There are new foreigners. A new head coach. So it's nice. It takes a bit of time for a team to set up and start gelling well. The last match was an unfortunate result for us, but we are trying to right the wrongs that happened and learn from them. We should learn from our mistakes. So, let's see what happens in the next match.

On playing under Jorge Costa.

He has played at a very high level. He has coached at a high level too. He has won the UEFA Champions League as a player. So him coming to India is a big thing for us. He is giving us a lot of confidence, too. Slowly but surely, he is getting his philosophy across to us. It takes time, yes. But his coaching style is very nice and so is his behaviour. He sees everyone in the team from the same perspective. So, we will try to learn all that he has taught the other players he has worked with. So, he is trying to slowly get a combination in the team. The team is gelling well so far. Let's see what the future holds.
