Defending champions Chennaiyin FC registered their first win of the 2016 Hero Indian Super League when they beat FC Goa 2-0 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai on Thursday evening. Hans Mulder and Mehrajuddin Wadoo scored for the Super Machans to help them bounce back from a 3-1 defeat against Delhi Dynamos FC in their last match. Chennaiyin forward Jayesh Rane, who had scored in his team’s 2-2 draw against Atlético de Kolkata in their season opener, spoke to indiansuperleague.com shortly after the game on Thursday and shared his thoughts on the win. Here are the excerpts from the interview.Congratulations, first win on the board. How do you feel?Obviously, feels good to get your first three points, we are on four points now. This win will give us a boost for our next games and we are looking for more points in the coming games. You had a week off after the loss against Delhi. Did you plan specifically for this game?Yes, we had to plan because in the Delhi game we had many errors, so we had to plan on how to overcome those errors and play well for the people of Chennai.Do you think this win will kick-start your campaign all over again?Obviously, last year also we were winless after the first two games. So the three points give us a boost for the next game and we will again be hoping to win.
