Eelco Schattorie’s men next host Jamshedpur at home on October 25.
Ahead of the encounter, indiansuperleague.com caught up with goalkeeper Pawan Kumar to uncover his thoughts on the season so far. Here are the excerpts:
Thoughts on NorthEast United's great start to the season.
It is a really good thing that we have started this well because 7 points from the first 3 matches is an accomplishment and we want to keep doing well going forward. It is a good result from the first three matches.
How did it feel when you made your debut for NorthEast United FC against Chennaiyin FC?
I wanted to play that match and then I was able to. It was my first match of the season so I gave my 100 percent but the most important thing that day was the win and taking three points away from home. So it felt really good.
How crucial is it to win away matches in a season?
Away matches are really very important for winning in general because going to another's house, playing and winning is always difficult. But having played two away matches and won them both is a good thing for us.
Thoughts on Mato Grgic and Mislav Komorski's partnership in defence?
Both of them have played together in their own country. So, they understand each other's game well. They always communicate in their own language. So, they have a good understanding between themselves and that benefits the team greatly.
How has your experience been with the Highlanders so far?
The experience has been great till now. It is still ongoing. I want us to win do even better than we have in the upcoming matches.
Message for the fans.
I want to tell all NorthEast United FC fans to keep coming to the stadium to watch us and support us so we can keep winning the next matches.
