Duckens Nazon had a good outing for Kerala Blasters FC during their 1-1 draw against FC Pune City at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Stadium in Balewadi on Monday. Cedric Hengbart scored the fastest goal of the season to give the Blasters an early lead. A 68th-minute strike by Mohamed Sissoko, however, ensured that the Stallions didn’t suffer their third consecutive home loss of the 2016 Hero Indian Super League. Nazon, who completed two successful take-ons, two blocks, two interceptions and three clearances, spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the match. Here are the excerpts from the interview. What do you think about today’s game?I am not very happy about this game because we did not defend our one-goal lead. It is very important that when we lead, we need to see out the game because it is an away match. Every point that we collect is very important as we move further in the competition.Your coach mentioned the other day that you can beat any team, is that why you feel that the one point is not justified? It is justified but we are not happy about it. We worked hard on the field today and everybody is tired. When you play away from home it is very difficult because the other team has the advantage and will do everything to win the game. So it’s better to get one point rather than nothing. You dominated for the most part of the game. How does it feel when a defender scores a goal like Hengbart did today?I am very happy for him. He works very hard in every game. It’s good that he scored a goal today as it is very important for the team too. It also proves that a defender can score a goal. What do you make of your performance in the Hero ISL so far?I feel very proud to play in the Hero ISL. I didn’t know earlier it is this good. There are a lot of people who come to watch the games and the atmosphere is very good too. Even the level of football is very good. So I am happy to be here.
