Milan disappointed after Delhi’s first loss

Milan Singh completed the full 90 minutes in Delhi Dynamos FC’s first loss of Hero Indian Super League 2016 against Atlético de Kolkata at the Rabindra Sarobar Stadium in Kolkata on Sunday. The Dynamos lost the game 1-0 despite having a man advantage for the final fifteen minutes of the match. Marcelinho could have put the Lions ahead but blazed his penalty over the bar after Henrique Sereno was sent off for a second yellow. ATK received a penalty of their own in the 77th minute, and Iain Hume did the rest. 24-year-old Milan, who has been a permanent fixture at the back for Delhi this season, spoke to indiansuperleague.com after his side’s first loss of the season. Here are the excerpts from the interview.

Are you very disappointed with the result?

Of course, we are disappointed, we did our best and we lost but the next time we will try to win and not repeat our mistakes.

Do you think you could have won the match?

Yes, of course if we hadn’t conceded the penalty. And if we had converted our penalty, we could have defended and won.

Do you think Debjit Majumder’s performance was the difference between the two teams?

Yeah, because ATK team is very strong and it is difficult to pass through their defenders.
