Bengaluru FC continued their stronghold at the top of the Hero Indian Super League 2017-18 points table by collecting three more points, courtesy of a 3-1 away win against FC Pune City at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Stadium in Pune on Thursday. Miku again turned out to be the ‘Hero of the Match’ for the visitors as his brace completely subdued the 10 men of Pune on the pitch at the time. After a hard-fought 90 minutes, Miku spoke to indiansuperleague.com about the win and how following the team’s philosophy helped them in the second period. Here are the excerpts.

According to you, how important was the win?

It's very important because when you come back from a first half where you are trailing 0-1, and your team has the quality to comeback and win a difficult game against a tough team, it is very important.

What was your head coach, Albert Roca's message during half-time?

He spoke on continuing our philosophy. Don't change and don't make another mistake because they (FC Pune City) are a great team and they can punish us, so be calm and continue with our philosophy to keep the ball and move. We (were) sure (we) would have our chances in the second half and we could play better and score goals.

After Baljit Sahni's red card, was FC Pune City playing for a draw?

Maybe. You never know what's happening. Football is a very, very difficult game and (it) changes very quickly. That is the way because this is the best time to respond. In two minutes anything can happen and everything can change. So, the red card is a part of the game.

Your next opponent is Chennaiyin FC. What are your thoughts?

We need to take rest because we are playing so (frequently). (We must) clean (our) mind, clean (our) legs, and see this game. We can do better from today. We are again facing a great team. Chennaiyin have good players, a good manager and it'll be a 100% tough game.
