He spoke to indiansuperleague.com ahead of their clash against FC Goa at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa on Saturday. Here are the excerpts.
How did you enter the football world and how has your journey in the game been so far?
I started playing football when I was three years old with my father in the dining room. Then, I joined an academy, and started playing football like a professional when I played for Real Madrid in their academy.
What drives you to get up every morning and go for training?
Passion. Football is a passion for me, and every morning I wake up thinking about it. I am very happy to be here, and to play everyday with my teammates while enjoying the league.
How easy has it been to gel with your teammates?
Very easy, because the atmosphere in the team is very good. There are good players, and good people, and I am very happy to be here.
What about India do you love the most?
The atmosphere is great, and the cities are nice. I had a good experience in Delhi last year, I visited many places, and I think India is very big and has a lot of things to see.
Have you had any unique experience in India?
The traffic in Delhi last year was awful (laughs). There were many times when we wanted to go to the restaurant or go out, but we spent a lot of time travelling.
You have an away game against Goa. How are you adjusting to the environment here?
It is warm here, so we try to train in the morning. It is very hot, but I think we have adjusted well to the conditions, but tomorrow will be a tough game. They have a strong team, but I hope things go well for us.
What are your thoughts on Goa’s attack?
They have great attacking players, and I know them from Spain, and they are very good. They are doing a great job, but hopefully tomorrow is a different game. It’s nice to be in such an atmosphere, and I hope many people come for the match.
Do you have any message for the travelling fans?
I hope tomorrow is a good game for everyone, and they enjoy the game with all of us.
