FC Goa were unlucky to be on the losing side, falling short narrowly to hosts Mumbai City at the Mumbai Football Arena on Saturday. With one win and one loss, they are now fourth in the table. Speaking to indiansuperleague.com after the game, Mandar Rao Dessai shared his thoughts on the game and here are the excerpts from the interview.

Mandar, tough game, well played, take us through the entire game.

In the first half, we tried to take the lead, but it was a good game. In the second half, we were pressurizing them but unfortunately, we conceded a goal. And then we scored, and again conceded a goal. It’s just the second game, we’ll comeback in the third.

It was really, really competitive out there – some tough tackles going in. You guys fighting for the 50-50 balls. Your thoughts?

It’s just the second game you know. Their team (Mumbai City FC) lost the first game, so they wanted to come really hard for the three points and with home support they made it.

How much do you think the individual errors in this game hurt your team?

It hurts the team but you can’t say anything to any player you know. It’s a long league and I think we’ll get better in the coming games.

Last game, you had gone out to Chennai and played really well. One victory and one loss now – what kind of momentum are you taking into the next game?

I think in two away games – three points is a good result and we’ll go be positive against Bengaluru so that we can get three points at home.
