Pritam Kotal completed the full 90 minutes in Atlético de Kolkata’s 2-1 win over FC Goa at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Thursday. The win took Kolkata to second spot in the 2016 Hero Indian Super League table with 18 points from 12 games. Kotal looked solid in ATK’s backline and completed one clearance, two crosses, three interceptions as well as five successful tackles during the game. The 23-year-old, who also ended the match with a 79% passing accuracy and one key pass to his name, spoke to indiansuperleague.com after the match. Here are the excerpts from the interview. Finally a win for you after three consecutive draws, so what are your thoughts on the match?I am really happy that we won the match and we came here to win, and now we prepare for the next two vital games against Kerala and Pune.Do you think ATK are ready to play their second final in three years? We still have two games remaining, so now we are focussing only on the semi-finals and not the final. You did very well defensively today since Goa were playing attacking football, so what are your thoughts on that?In the last two–three games, we conceded a few bad goals and they had some attacking players like Romeo, Mandar and Joffre, and our target was not to concede a goal but somehow we conceded. That is okay though. When Goa equalised, did you think another draw was coming your way?We conceded a goal but we were not thinking about a draw and we got a last-minute goal, so that was good for our team.
