Midfielder Joffre had a disappointing start to his 2016 Hero Indian Super League campaign with a 2-0 defeat against NorthEast United FC at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium on Tuesday evening. His team, FC Goa went behind in the 20th minute due to a goalkeeping error and never really recovered, despite having several chances. A second Alfaro strike sealed their fate in the 62nd minute. The former ISL winner with Atlético de Kolkata and runner-up with the Gaurs last year spoke exclusively to the indiansuperleague.com after the match and shared what went wrong for his team on the night in front of almost 28,000 spectators. Here are the excerpts from the interview. Not the best start to the season. What are your thoughts on the first match? Not the best. The score is not the best. I think we have to improve many things. The game was not so bad. We had our chances. We tried to play with the ball back but we have to improve. What are your thoughts on your personal game?My game, my only game is for my team. My evaluation is ‘not-improving’ and I think the team is so far ok. With the ball in the first half, we needed to move the ball faster because they were very close to their own goal. After the first goal it was even more important. We tried but let’s now look at the other games.
