Saturday ended in despair for Delhi Dynamos FC as they crumbled to their fourth loss of Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2017-18 against FC Goa at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi. Delhi completely failed to thwart Goa’s Spanish storm to lose 5-1, with captain Kalu Uche’s sole goal being the only consolation. Post the humbling loss, indiansuperleague.com caught up with the home team’s Dutch midfielder Jeroen Lumu for his thoughts on the encounter. Here are the excerpts.
Your thoughts on the game?
What can I say, we were again the better team. In the first couple of minutes, we deserved the penalty. For me, because of the referee, we lost this game.
What do you make of the two quick goals conceded in the first half?
Two individual mistakes (caused the goals). I don’t want to take names, however.
Did the red card affect your game?
Actually, it was not so tough because we still were the better team. But you know the spaces get bigger and that’s why we want to score goals but when the space gets bigger, they get many chances.
What did you make of your personal performance?
My performance was good but I know I can still do more, so hopefully next week.
Any positives you take from the game?
We train very hard and we need to keep on like this. Today was a good game, it’s not about the score but it was a good game.
