Chennaiyin FC will play their final home match of the season on Saturday when they face off against Jamshedpur FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai. Last season's champions have endured a torrid season so far and are currently languishing at the bottom of the table. Saturday's encounter will give John Gregory's men an opportunity to sign off on a high in front of the home support and give the fans something to cheer about.

Before the match, indiansuperleague.com caught up with Chennaiyin striker Jeje Lalpekhlua for a chat. Here's what he said.

What went wrong for Chennaiyin FC this season?

Yes, it has been a very sad season for us but right now, we have two more matches to go and we need to give everything we have to get three points in the next match. We need to forget the past and concentrate on the future.

Thoughts on your personal performances this season?

I'm not happy with my performance. I keep pushing myself every day in training and I need to improve on my fitness and abilities. Sometimes if you get something wrong, you need to learn from your mistakes and you have to improve every day. In training and on the field. That's what I need to do too.

What are you expecting from the final home match of the season?

In the last home match of the season, I think we need to finish well with three points. Especially for the fans. We need to give them a reason to smile and we will give everything on the pitch. I hope the result will be in our favour but it is not going to be easy. For them (Jamshedpur FC), this match is like a final. But this is our home and we will give everything.
