Wednesday ended on a delightful note for Jamshedpur FC as they registered their first ever Hero Indian Super League (ISL) victory and goal against Delhi Dynamos FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi. The player who wrote his name into the history books by scoring the only goal of the game for the visitors was Nigerian Izu Azuka, who put Mehtab Hossain’s clinical free-kick into the back of the net with a well-executed header. Shortly after the final whistle, indiansuperleague.com caught up with the man of the moment for his thoughts on the historical night. Here are the excerpts.

How are you feeling?

I am feeling great. We have been waiting for this for a very long time, so it feels great. We have done it for the team and for our fans back home.

Do you think you scored because Delhi have conceded the most number of goals in the

league?

I don’t think it’s because they have conceded the most number of goals. They are an ISL team so definitely they are a good team. You can’t underrate a team playing in the ISL. The goal came because we have been preparing for this for a long time.

Can you go through the moment when you scored the goal?

I am a striker, so my primary job is to score goals, anyhow the goal comes.
