Delhi Dynamos skipper Hans Mulder scored the equalising goal for the capital side against Chennaiyin FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai. Delhi could not manage to win the game that would have easily carried them into the semi-finals. The game ended in a 2-2 draw with marquee player Alessandro Del Piero getting his first goal and Mulder getting his third – all of which have come while wearing the captain’s armband. With the result, Delhi now need other results to go their way to ensure qualification.Mulder spoke to indiansuperleague.com in a post-match interview about opposing attacker Bruno Pelissari’s wonder goal to put Chennaiyin in the lead, and also exulted about Del Piero’s first goal of the tournament. He was also full of praise for his coach and team as he believes they are more than just a team, but more like a family. What are your thoughts on the draw?I think we lost the ball too easily! When they had the ball they were very dangerous coming into our half. I also think the first goal was very lucky (Pelissari’s goal). We still have a chance. If we had won this game we would have been in the semi-finals, we came here to win, to fight and to play good football. What are your thoughts on Del Piero’s first goal in the ISL?You know that Del Piero has amazing free kicks and he’s shown that today. Unfortunately, he wasn’t so lucky in the past games, but today he scored a fantastic goal. What was the mindset of the team going into the last 10-15 minutes? At halftime we told each other that it’s all or nothing, and that we shouldn’t give up until the last whistle. I think we did a good job in the second half. I think just five minutes more would have got us the winner. As Delhi captain, what are your thoughts on the next game, between Kerala Blasters and Pune City? I’m hoping for a draw! We played really well in the second half, we came back from 2-0 down and we fought for each other; now we’re just waiting for the luck.A few words on your coach? It’s amazing how he teaches us how to play football, but most importantly he teaches us to fight for each other. I think he’s done a really good job to create a team and it’s starting to feel like a family.
