Hans Mulder was Delhi Dynamos FC’s skipper and second goal scorer of the night after Gustavo dos Santos opened the account for the visiting side in their 1-2 win over NorthEast United FC on Monday night. The 27-year-old Dutch-Spanish midfielder, who has been playing professionally since the age of 19, has been the veritable engine of the Dynamos. His tireless running and work rate earned him the Amul Fittest Player of the Match today. Mulder, who was delighted with the win, spoke to indiansuperleague.com exclusively after the match. Here are some of the highlights:How important is this win for you?Very important, I think if we had lost today it would have been over for us. We get confidence from these three points and I cannot wait to play the next game. We want to sustain the same energy we had today and create more chances. You lost a man in the first half, how important was it to maintain the lead?I think it was the most important game in the league. In the second half NorthEast were playing very well. They kept the ball very well and it was very difficult to keep up with a man down. But we did it well, we had a lot of luck today, we had to finish the chances that we created today. You guys will probably have to win all your remaining games. But are you taking it one game at a time?Yes, I think that’s the most important thing, don’t look at the other games, the next one is the most important. We have to win that if we want to achieve something in this league. What did you think of the atmosphere today?I think this is one great crowd, when we came out for the warm ups they were cheering for us. It’s a really nice stadium and the atmosphere is really fantastic.A word on your man of the match, Gustavo dos Santos. He’s a great player, he has a lot of quality when he has the ball, he’s shown it today and in previous games also. He scored a great goal and gave a great pass; he’s young, he’s got a lot to learn and if he continues to play like this, he’s going to be a great player.
