Jamshedpur’s defeat at the hands of the Stallions in Pune meant that Bengaluru FC remain the only unbeaten team in the Hero Indian Super League ( Hero ISL) 2018-19 campaign. Second on the table going into their top-of-the-table clash with Goa, Bengaluru will be confident of making the play-offs if they manage to get anything out of today’s clash.

Ahead of the monstrous tie, indiansuperleague.com caught up with Bengaluru and India goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu to get his thoughts on their upcoming assignment. Here are a few excerpts from the same.

Thoughts on the team’s performance so far

It’s been great. We haven’t lost any match yet and that is a great boost for us. So, we are looking forward to keep the momentum and make sure we play to win and also make sure to concede less goals and score more.

Last time around 7 goals were scored when the two sides met. Are you expecting a similar encounter tonight?

I hope not. Personally, I would like to keep a clean sheet and that will be my aim and if we get a win in Goa, which is very difficult as FC Goa is a quality side and it will be great for us and as I said before, we will play to win.

A win will take Bengaluru FC to the top of the table. Will that be on your mind while approaching the game.

Yes, for sure. Securing a place in the top four is a priority right now and winning will give us a boost and going to the top of the table will provide us much comfort.

Are you looking forward to the one on one encounter against Ferran Corominas?

Yes, it will be interesting. He is a very good player and a very good finisher. He scored two goals against me last season as well. So, no doubt he is a good quality player and we need to keep our eyes on him and make sure we don’t give him much space to attack.
