Albino Gomes has been in fine form for Mumbai City FC in Hero Indian Super League 2016 and will be hoping for his fourth start of the campaign when Alexandre Guimaraes’ men face FC Pune City at the Mumbai Football Arena on Thursday. The 22-year-old goalkeeper has exhibited stellar form in the blue of Mumbai this year having conceded just one goal and kept two clean sheets in his three starts for the Mumbaikars so far. Gomes has made 10 saves for Mumbai in Hero ISL 2016 and seems to have worked his way into Guimaraes’ plans after Roberto Volpato had also made a strong start between Mumbai’s sticks this season. Gomes spoke to indiansuperleague.com ahead of the second Maharashtra derby of the season. Here are the excerpts from the interview.A couple of crucial saves from you this season and Mumbai City FC have benefited from that, so what are your thoughts on that?Day by day my game is getting better and I will try to make it even better, and hope I get more chances so I can prove myself more. How do you think the return of Sunil Chhetri and Amrinder Singh will boost the morale of the squad?I think it is very important as Sunil is a very good striker, so it will boost our attack and Amrinder is also a very good goalkeeper.Mumbai City FC are presently sitting pretty at the top of the table. What do you have to say about that?We will work hard to continue being at the top of the table.
